Kia Antoniadis has lived in Melbourne all her life. Her parents migrated to Australia from Greece in the early 1960s so she has lots of personal experience around negotiating different cultures. She studied psychology at Melbourne University and has been a registered psychologist since 1989. She has a Masters degree in Applied Psychology and a Diploma in Family Therapy. She has worked with families for around 25 years. She started off working with families who had young children with disabilities. These families were mainly from migrant backgrounds. Kia has been married for 30 years and has 2 adult sons. In the last 4 years she has been working with the Australian Greek Welfare Society as a family counsellor and has been counselling families around ageing issues. She has also been involved with running workshops and counselling young couples from different cultural backgrounds who are in a committed relationship and planning to get married. This has been a collaborative project with Relatewell Family Relationships Institute who provide pre-marital support to young couples.
